For the Cobbler Base:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
¾ cup granulated sugar
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon-Sugar Topping:
½ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup hot water
For Garnishing:
Powdered sugar (optional)
Vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
2. Prepare the Batter:
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in melted butter, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
3. Add the Cinnamon-Sugar Topping:
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the batter.
- Slowly pour hot water over the top (DO NOT STIR!).
4. Bake & Serve:
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with vanilla ice cream!
