Description
A Simple and Delicious Dessert with Tender Apples and a Light, Fluffy Batter
Ingredients
For the apples:
4 medium apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)
1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the batter:
1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Prepare the apples:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until evenly coated. Set aside.
Make the batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth and combined.
Assemble the bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Arrange the apple slices over the batter, distributing them evenly across the surface. The batter will rise around the apples as it bakes.
Bake the dessert:
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the apple pie batter bake cool slightly before serving.
Serve:
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra indulgent treat!
